S.D. Allen Ministry and Missions exist to demonstrate the love of Christ by meeting the needs of neighbors.

Since December 2013, the S.D. Allen building operates a furniture donation and delivery ministry, a student missionary program, and the HOPE Initiative Rehab & Repair Ministry. For more information about our history and more, read here.

Furniture Ministry

Our furniture ministry operates upon receiving referrals of families in need from other nonprofits and organizations in the area. Once we identify what items are available in the warehouse, staff and volunteers deliver the items directly to the families in need. Over the past three years, The S.D. Allen Ministry has delivered over 530 items to local families in need.

Student missionary Program

Each summer, a group of college students are selected to serve as S.D. Allen Summer Missionaries. They commit their summer to working with S.D. Allen’s Missions partners in the Tuscaloosa community. Our hope is that once these students are exposed to local missions, they will feel the responsibility to do the same wherever God may lead them after college.

Rehab & Repair Ministry

A team of volunteers who assist  community members in performing repairs to their homes at no costs to the recipients. This team will provide services as simple as changing a light bulb for an elderly Church or community member to making repairs to building wheelchair ramps. Volunteer time and donations of materials and funds will be gratefully accepted to accomplish this mission.
